Evelyn Estella Lane Merritt was born November 12, 1920 in Jesup, Georgia. She was the first child born to Ella Harris Lane and Lawrence Lane. She married Warren George Merritt from Greene County, Georgia. Evelyn Merritt was a talented pianist, teacher, and a faithful archivist, documenting the experiences and relationships dear to her.
